Educators have the opportunity and ability not only to influence individual lives, but to help shape thriving communities and economies. That’s why we are announcing a call for nominations for our 2017 Lawrence W. O’Toole Teacher Leadership Awards, to honor New England public high school educators who have worked to push for student-centered learning at scale.

About the Lawrence W. O'Toole Teacher Leadership Awards

About the O'Toole AwardThe O’Toole Awards will honor New England public high school teachers who have served as advocates for and champions of student-centered learning, and who have advocated for student-centered approaches to learning not only in their classroom, but at scale.

  • Up to 12 grants of $15,000 each to advance a teacher’s advocacy for student-centered approaches to learning at scale
  • Teachers must be nominated to be considered (self-nominations are allowed)
  • Nomination accepted through Friday, July 14th at 12:00 PM EST
  • Certain criteria applies
  • Awards will go to a nonprofit fiscal agent that each nominee will identify

Award winners will be announced the week of August 21, 2017, and winners will be expected to attend an awards ceremony in Boston on Friday, November 3rd to receive their awards. The Foundation will cover travel costs for award recipients.
