Through the Empowered Superintendents initiative, The Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) collaborates with superintendents to assess their challenges and increase their capacities to lead technology efforts to support student learning.
The Superintendents Toolkit is a guide to support leadership in the digital age. It includes two modules, one which examines 5 key roles superintendents must address to be effective technology leaders, and another which outlines four steps to strengthen district technology leadership teams. It also includes both self and leadership team assessments.
Superintendents will also be interested in the one-pagers focused on different edtech topics to help guide and empower superintendents as they lead their schools through digital transformations. Topics include:
Accessibility
Cybersecurity
Mobile learning
Online assessment
Strategic technology planning and investment
These one-page briefs were designed both to educate superintendents and to help them communicate more effectively with stakeholders in the school and community regarding education technology. This article in eSchool News provides a nice overview of these briefs.
