The Connected Learning Summit is a conference that aims to fuel a growing movement of innovators harnessing emerging technology to expand access to participatory, playful, and creative learning. This conference has a unique focus on cross-sector connections and progressive and catalytic innovation. The event will bring together leading researchers, educators and developers.
The program includes a mix of engaging presentation and workshop formats ranging from speculative design, to game walkthroughs and research panels. Some of the highlights for this conference are:
- A keynote conversation between Joi Ito, director of the MIT Media Lab, and Baratunde Thurston, a comedian and cultural critic.
- A plenary session, featuring middle school teacher Michelle King discussing how to create empathetic institutions, redesign for equity and social justice, and organize learning institutions to build connections.
- A spotlight on SciGirls CODE, a pilot program that uses the principles of connected learning to develop girls’ computational thinking and coding skills.
