This webinar will address how states can use resources provided by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) to implement deeper learning practices in schools and school districts. State and local policymakers, in addition to district and school leaders can use deeper learning as the framework from which to design their plans to meet the ESSA requirements as states prepare to implement ESSA. The requirements and resources provided by three sources of funding within the law are particularly salient: Title I, Title II, and Title IV.
During the month of September, the Alliance for Excellent Education will hold a series of three webinars focused on the “deeper learning” competencies students need in order to succeed in college and careers. These skills include: the ability to understand content deeply and use that knowledge to think critically to solve problems, effective communication in a variety of media, collaboration with others, and directing one’s own learning.
This webinar will take place on September 27, 2017 from 3:30 pm – 4:10 pm EDT. The event is free but registration is required. A recording of the event will be available online one to two days after the event.
Host Organization: Alliance for Excellent Education and Center for American Progress
