The Digital Promise Global’s 360° Story Lab supports young people to produce 360° media on topics that affect their communities. Virtual Reality technology can be used to expose students to many new perspectives, experiences, and places. Students can also learn to be creators not just consumers of this technology. Through experiential storytelling and immersive technologies, young people can share their perspectives and inspire positive action on issues that matter to them.
Educators can use the Production Guide which includes classroom activities and student-facing resources for creating original immersive media products, including 360° video and photography. Students may be particularly interested in the student films from the 360 Filmmakers Challenge, a partnership between Digital Promise and Oculus, which tell important stories from students’ communities and can inspire other students to create their own virtual reality stories to enact change.
