The online community, managed by the National Youth Leadership Council, is for educators and youth interested in service-learning experiences that allow students to apply classroom knowledge and skills to a real world community need. This free resource includes a large number of tools, research, and online learning communities. Of particular interest is the Generator, a project planning tool to guide the creation of new and innovative service-learning projects. This tool takes users from early planning to project completion — challenging them to think deeply about their project while providing dozens of supporting resources. The GSN also houses the National Service-Learning Clearinghouse, the nation’s largest library of service-learning research, data, tools, and materials.
This online learning community includes many resources for any school support staff, teachers, or other education leaders who wish to learn about or strengthen service-learning opportunities.
