Levers2Learn is a web-based research report which shares findings on barriers to, and enablers of, deeper learning in high schools. The Business Innovation Factory Student Experience Lab (SXL) and The Hewlett Foundation interviewed educators from the Deeper Learning Network which brings together more than 500 public and charter schools dedicated to providing deeper learning experiences nation-wide. Throughout the report short video clips of these interviews bring to life work in schools. The findings are organized into six categories, or “levers,” each of which has the potential to positively and/or negatively influence practitioners’ abilities to deepen learning for their students. These include:

  • Leadership
  • Equity
  • Versatility
  • Experience
  • Relationships
  • Structure

Leaders of schools looking to shift culture and norms of working to increase deep learning for students might study this report to spark ideas for change or use it to structure conversations with staff.
