National Action Civics Collaborative (NACC) brings together a group of diverse education and youth serving organizations to address concerns over the lack of youth civic involvement and the worrying civics gap in which low-income youth are the least likely to be involved. NACC is dedicated to advancing action civics, a project-based authentic way to empower students to get engaged in their schools and communities.
The site provides an overview of the action civics approach, as well as stories of action campaigns and the students involved to illustrate the approach at work. It also includes a gallery of student-created products such as videos. Designed for educators who want to take on action civics, the Action Toolbox includes lessons for students organized around the steps in the action civics process and provided by member organizations. It also includes useful sample evaluation tools, such as surveys, and information on connections to common core standards.
