This toolkit, Design Thinking for Educators, introduces the concept of design thinking to help educators, school, and district leaders create impactful solutions to tough challenges. It outlines a process and method to approach problem solving and planning in an intentional and collaborative way. IDEO, a design firm, worked with Riverdale Country School, a Pre-K through Grade 12 independent school in New York City to adapt the ideas addressed in design thinking methodology specifically for the context of K-12 education. Any school or district team can adopt this approach to planning using the overview materials and Designer’s Workbook included in the toolkit.
