Librarians can play an important role in expanding the use of Open Educational Resources (OER) to support student-centered curriculum. This guidebook was created for librarians by the national nonprofit Institute for the Study of Knowledge Management in Education after a study of 15 school districts. The clear overview of OER, outline of the curation process, examples from the field, and many tools and resources will help any librarian learn to select and manage OER at their school.

District leaders will also like this Education Week article. Written by the Director of Learning and Innovation in a CA district involved in the study, it outlines the factors districts need in order to expand the role of librarians in OER curation.
