Unchaining Digital Data: K-12 Interoperability

By Education Week Editors
November 8, 2018

This special report from Education Week brings together several articles focused on interoperability of digital data. As school’s use of technology increases, large amounts of data are available, but often it is hard to access across programs and platforms. Some technology leaders are looking to interoperability, the seamless sharing of data across products and systems. This report details results from a survey of the nation’s chief technology officers, examining their biggest challenges with interoperability as well as the data management problems they hope it might solve. It also looks at hard questions that should be asked, tips, and mistakes for districts to avoid.

This report was written for K-12 district technology leaders, including chief technology officers, and is the first in what will be a series of three reports for this audience.
