This organization, the New England Secondary School Consortium (NESSC), is a regional partnership that promotes innovations in the design and delivery of secondary education across New England. Five states—Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont—come together to promote equity and opportunity for all students. NESSC is coordinated by the Great Schools Partnership. The organization promotes a state-led policy agenda focused on proficiency-based graduation decisions, personalized learning pathways, and more effective accountability systems. It works to increase public understanding of innovative approaches to education. The network provides professional development and learning opportunities for schools, many through the League of Innovative Schools.

Membership is open to any New England secondary school—committed to educational equity, student-centered learning, and ongoing improvement. Members participate in self assessment, create action plans, and take part in professional development and networking opportunities, including site visits to other member schools.
